Calling all Teachers, Students and Makers...If you're in Sydney this weekend, come and see us at the Sydney Mini Maker Faire ! We've exhibited here before (as BitScope Ed) but this year we're joining forces on the Ozberry stand to showcase new educational projects & ideas. Ozberry Sydney MakersOzberry is a maker group in Sydney who build internet connected things using open source hardware and software and popular platforms including Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Beaglebone, Teensy, Android and more. Ozberry operate at Solidifier Maker Space (who are also at the Faire) and members will be exhibiting projects built with PiRack, Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Also on the stand will be an object avoiding robot with a Raspberry Pi V2 running the new Windows 10 for IoT (download here). BitScope Blade Cluster ComputingWe will bring along our new BitScope Blade Raspberry Pi based Blade Server solution. We previewed BitScope Blade and Blade Rack at the Hannover Maker Faire in June. For Sydney we'll have BitScope Blade and Blade Rack 20 on display up and running with 20 fully operational Raspberry Pi V2 configured as a cluster computing system for test, measurement & data acquisition. BitScope Micro PortsBitScope Micro is the most popular model we've made. It's available via element14. By popular demand we're releasing a new range of port adapters for BitScope Micro and we'll have a number of these on display at the show. Whether you're prototyping new designs, debugging hardware, or connecting with third party electronics, BitScope Micro Ports make the task easy. BitScope Micro Audio Port & Sonic PiOne new adapter is Audio Port designed to connect audio signals to BitScope Micro. We'll demonstrate it with Sonic Pi which is one of the best tools to visualise sound with Raspberry Pi and BitScope. You will be able to program and play music and see it live on the screen as waveforms and spectra as you hear it play from the speaker. BitScope Pi Operating SystemWe love Raspberry Pi and Raspbian, the Pi's default operating system, is perfect for what we do. We've explained how to install Rasbian in the past but what we really wanted was a configured operating system for Raspberry Pi when used for educational purposes. There are additional software packages to install (for some Raspberry Pi HATs) and there are quite a few BitScope applications now, so we built our own Raspbian edition. We call it BitScope PiOS and we'll have a limited number available at the show on pre-configured 8GB SD cards. We'll bring our SD Replicator Pi which we used to prepare for our Picademy Session last week if you want to program your own. Don't worry if you can't make it, we'll be publishing this edition online soon too. Pimoroni's Explorer HAT and Piano HAT !For a bit of fun (and a lot of education) we'll also have Explorer and Piano HAT on the stand. Last week we hosted Carrie Anne Philbin from the Raspberry Pi Fountation to run Australia's first Picademy for teachers with the help of ThinkSpace at the Powerhouse. Her workshop was entitled How to create a Bananna Beat Box with Raspberry Pi and it was a lot of fun. She introduced Pimoroni's excellent Explorer HAT and we'll have a bunch of these on the stand at the show. We might even be able to get the beat box going and Pimoroni also sent us a brand new Piano HAT, released just last week. We'll bring this along too. So join us at the team from Ozberry at the Faire for lots to see and do with Raspberry Pi and BitScope. We'll have some give aways from element14 Australia and we welcome your questions and feedback on the Ozberry stand. We're especially keen to hear from anyone interested in STEM, coding and electronics. Related Posts |
