BitScope Micro, what's in the box?
This post is a follow-up to our previous Q&A about BitScope Micro for Raspberry Pi.
Lots of people have asked us what's included with BitScope Micro.
The simple answer is everything to get started except Raspberry Pi!
- BitScope Micro with integrated USB cable.
- One set of 10 test leads with grabber clips.
- Pair of colour coded analog shorting plugs.
- Connection key card with pin connections.
- Printed package and getting started guide.
- Short-form BitScope DSO software guide.
BitScope Micro itself is tiny so needless to say the package is pretty small too. We're shipping these little guys out as fast as we can!
All pending express orders have shipped and are now turning around in 24 hours. We hope to have all remaining priority orders shipped before Easter.
We continue to ask that you check your order history for the latest shipping news instead of emailing us about your order. Please bear with us for the next week or so, we've never dealt with such high demand before!
What about the software?
You can download the software free of charge from our website!
We have put a lot of effort into making sure our software works well with Raspberry Pi. We have ported most of our applications and we have paid particular attention to optimizing DSO for Raspberry Pi.
We've posted instructions for how to install BitScope DSO on Raspberry Pi. All our other apps install the same way and we've made them available too but they are still a work in progress so don't be surprised if you run into some bugs if you try them with BitScope Micro and/or Pi.
We will post updates over the coming months for all our existing apps and we have a range of new software and coding options coming specifically for Micro and Raspberry Pi. Stay tuned!
Of course, you can also install our software for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux for BitScope Micro too; it's all cross-platform.
For now we recommend you use BitScope DSO. It is a very comprehensive test, measurement and data acquisition application and works the same way with any BitScope including BitScope Micro. A short-form printed version of the user guide is included when you purchase BitScope Micro but we also recommend you read the detailed online user guide (which you can download as PDF) to familiarise yourself with all its capabilities, there is a lot to learn!
It's been a huge week down here following the BitScope Micro launch, much bigger than we expected, so we thank-you for your patience as we ramp up to meet the demand. The boys down at the warehouse are taking a few days off over the break but we'll be back on deck shipping daily next week. Happy Easter!
